Heritage Hog Brings Home the Bacon
Tres Pinos, CA – The 2022 Junior Livestock Auction is in the books—and the Heritage Hog was a spectacular grand finale.
Bob, the Heritage Hog, went for $314 a pound… raising $82,000!
The money goes to the Heritage Foundation for future projects on the fairgrounds.
18-year-old Christine Gastello, of Cienega 4-H, raised Bob and earned a $1,000 scholarship. Christine will head off to college next year and plans to become a nurse.
261 animals, from rabbits to beef, were auctioned off this year… bringing in more than $1 million.
